Check out this video that I watched today. This guy gets it.
Fear is a mental aspect of life that we as people have to deal with everyday. Whether it’s anxiety from your job or pressure from friends or family members it’s essential to remain calm. When we’re not calm we lose sense of what is really important in the moment and when taking about fear, its fight or flight.
So it’s been about two weeks now since my last update so bear with me here.
A lot of things have transpired over the past week or so none more important than getting my safety surfacing company live and going. As of right now things look great! I’m very optimistic about the outcome of this company. I genuinely feel like this is the game changer I’ve been waiting for.
Towing Company has become a powerhouse. My towing guy is looking at taking on private property tows just because we keep getting so many calls for that. I say screw it, go for it and get that money bro!
Academically I haven’t been slipping up and have been able to maintain two A’s so far and the semester is halfway over almost! I’m really excited to dominate Accounting and International Business the first time around.
I also met a girl and we had a wonderful time. I took her on a date to a really nice place and we started hanging out a lot. I don’t think anything serious will come of it but it’s still nice to know I still got it 😉
Wow. The past couple of days have been interesting to say the least. First of all, I can’t believe we are already over halfway through the year of 2016. Crazy right?!
Well anyways, I’ve been having a great week getting the safety surfacing company going as well as another towing website in Columbia South Carolina. I can’t wait to get this one going because I know what I can do in this niche market. Dominate it.
Fireworks are going off like crazy down at Key West and they are really something else. Brynn is scared to death of fireworks so I’m giving her pizza crust to distract her. It seems to be working well haha.
I’ve had a semi productive week and since my last post. I was able to pass all of my classes getting a B and a C in them. I’m not math wiz so I’m just glad that I was able to pass my accounting course in general. Speaking of which I currently have two A’s in my new classes International Business and Accounting II. My current towing company is killing it in Orlando. So far I’m looking at a great ROI from this venture and I’m extremely glad I took the leap. I can’t wait to make this a million dollar company with my partners.
I had a pretty productive day knocking out a crap ton of Accounting and business management homework. Projects, tests, homework and discussion boards are all something I like to do in a time crunched panic lol.
I had a great 8 mile bike ride and was pretty motivated throughout the day! I can’t wait to get these next sites up. It’s all I can think about right now $$$
I have decided that in order to be successful I need to cultivate a POSITIVE MINDSET.
Positive mindset and no negativity. Got it!
I believe you can! Tell yourself this everyday until you believe it and then say it even more! I have also decided that I need to read everyday to ensure that I am learning everyday. You need to learn from failure or ignore it. No more negativity!!
Today I accomplished lots of things since coming back from my business trip. Not only was I able to update my blog, I went ahead and emailed the marketing invoice to my towing partner. I also was contacted by a potential new client and I gave him the pricing and a call log via email. I need to follow up on this within three days.
I detailed and listed the Wuss U V and listed it. I hope to turn a sweet profit on the the car and get a new one. I was able to get a scholarship sent to me via Alaskan Native Sisterhood which should help with my tuition costs.
All of my homework was completed before deadlines at 11:59pm. The research paper I typed out in less than two hours after my modeling show I got a 93% on. Not bad for rushing it in there.
Over the weekend I left my little home in Key West and set off to Orlando to close my first client and to work the Premier Beauty show at the Orange County Convention Center.
It’s safe to say that this business trip was a huge success!
I arrived in Orlando Saturday and had my meeting at 2 p.m. I met with the manager and the owner of the towing company that I have been referring my work to over the past month and a half. The meeting went really well. We discussed the overall value of my website as well as pricing, future goals and many other things as well. The biggest takeaway from my meeting was that I actually picked a partner that was too established. Currently the towing company that I’ve been working with receives around 15 calls a day for towing services in addition to the 11-15 I refer to them every day. What this tells me is that I have to find a less established company that truly benefit from my services. What this means is that I need to find a company with maybe 2 or three trucks that works 24 hours. Finding this company will ensure the future success of not only my website but my business going forward.
I did leave Orlando with a deal though so this wasnt a wasted trip. The owner told me that his company would like to do more heavy duty tows, like RV towing or Boat Towing. So later on today and this week I will be working with the towing company, taking control of their website to ensure they become the number one heavy duty towing provider in Central Florida!
I decided to go in my library and pull out a book I read a couple years ago Think Like a Champion featuring yours truly, the Donald. He mentioned that he wakes himself up at 3:30 a.m. every day. I thought to myself, why in the world would anyone want to wake up at 3:30 a.m. every day?
Like everyone else in the world I love sleep. So not only was this an issue then it’s still an ongoing battle for me today. So how does one become successful if they’re waking up at 12 p.m. or later on their days off- or sleeping in until 30 minutes before a shift? The truth is they don’t. We all get 24 hours in a day. Those individuals who discipline themselves to wake up before the crack of dawn hold a significant advantage over the average person. It’s no secret that some of the wealthiest people in the world are up before the crack of dawn. While everyone else is asleep, these people are building their dreams in reality. These individuals are successful not just because they wake up early or have wealth but because they have discovered something much more valuable- their why.
I want you to ask yourself: what is your why? Knowing your why is an incredible advantage in every aspect of life. It gives us the drive, passion and determination needed to be successful day in and day out. Steve Jobs was an icon and he got 24 hours just like everyone else. Is not about the hours you put in, it’s about what you put in the hours.
Below are notes I took from Think Like a Champion.
I have been quite busy finishing up my semester and starting accounting tomorrow. I also got an extra whiteboard yesterday so I can write new goals and draw up my new clients marketing plan in Orlando. I am truly blessed to be able to stay in Florida.
I want you to dig deep down into your heart and figure out exactly where you are in life and then I want you to get a pen and paper and write down where you want to be a year from now and then two years from now. The purpose of this is to gain a general understanding on where you are in life in the present moment. Warning: this will make most people feel insecure because they believe that they can always put aside their dreams for tomorrow.
What these people, and the younger me failed to realize is that the present moment is immensely powerful and having a positive mindset will only amplify this moment. In sales we don’t make our sales when we’re negative; we make our sales when we’re happy and motivated! If money motivates you but you have no money then count your blessings. Start your day counting something everyday and get out of that negative mindset that’s holding you back from owning the present moment!
There comes a time in everyone’s life where they have to take responsibility for their actions. Failure to act is an action in itself and a lot of us tend to recluse ourselves in our smartphones and live within our safe spaces to avoid external judgement, when really we need to remove ourselves from this habit and learn to experience the world as it is now.
Own the moment. Seize the day! Live life and be happy!
